Educational activities on the farm

AGRICAMPUS- DAYS in Educational Farm

Gelindo dei Magredi organize educational days in the farm for schools since the begining of its activity. We offer knowledge of agricultural techniques through the five senses:
Technics of cultivation and preservation of organis food; how to make the Polenda, the cheese, the wine, the roast chicken.

We will teach the children to make the bread and the polenta  with their own hends and they will learn while having fun. Educational activities, fauna park, livestock stables, viveros, dairies, winery and the horse riding school will be only some teaching tools to make the kids understand that  everything comes from the earth and that’s why we have to respect it.


The LABORATORIES 
”From Farm to Fork”

  1. Cereals: from the plant to the seed, than flour, bread and polenta
  2. From the grass to the cheese: forage plants, milking the cow, milk clotting
  3. Laboratory of nutritional education: I learn to know and cook food:
  • Flour and salt: bread and pizza
  • Flour and salt: tagliatelle and ravioli
  • Flour and sugar: the pastry of the sweets
  • Range of sweets: fruits and jams
  • Course of preserved vegetables (Preparation and sterilization)

4.  Vegetables and greens: knowledge and use food grade:

  • The potato: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation
  • The pumpkin: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation
  • The beans: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation
  • The tomato: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation
  • The cabbage: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation

5. Medicinal herbs: knowledge, use in cooking or cultivation (with Caterina de Boni)

6. From Grapes to wine: colors, flavors and traditions during the ancestral rite of harvest

7. Apple, apples, cider and jams: colors, flavors, traditions and Celtic rituals related to apple


“Life on the farm”

  1. Horses & Donkeys: from breeding to riding (lessons in riding stables and carriage ride)
  2. Discovering the world of mosaic: familiarization and knowledge of mosaic art
  3. Bike ride and carriage in the woods of Vivaro for the discovery and knowledge of plants
  4. Gita in Magredi: knowledge of the habitat, herbs, flowers and birds
  5. From sheep to sweater: the laboratory of the wool
  6. The laboratory of the felt with Caterina de Boni

The afternoon is' expected the assistance of only 1 animator.

The lunch for the children is composed by:

  • rite of polenta
  • little starter with toasted homemade bread with salami and omelette
  • 1 first course as agreed with the organizer
  • side dish vegetables (salad on request)
  • dessert to be agreed
  • water, apple juice and grape juice

The lunch of the teachers is composed by:

  • rite of polenta
  • little starter with toasted homemade bread with salami and omelette
  • 1 first course to be chosen by the day menu
  • second course with meat or cheese
  • side dish vegetables (salad bar)
  • dessert to be agreed
  • water, apple juice, wine, caffee, home produced grappa or liquors
